1970 ‘Burroughs E2000’ Computer Magnetic Core Memory
The E2000 was part of a series of small accounting computers brought out by the Burroughs Corporation in the late 1960s and supported both a card reader and line printer. This board is dated 1970 and would have contained the computer’s memory. As well as the other components it has a sandwich containing two 52 x 52 core wrapped memory boards. Very interestingly the lower back of the board has been signed ‘Clara Hamlin’ who was probably the worker who assembled it.
Overall it is nice to find a vintage core memory unit in untouched complete condition rather than split apart as is so often the case. With its multitude of wires this would also look pretty nice framed up.
